Last Christmas we raised money for a project supporting children’s well-being in the Kingdom of Bhutan together with the players of Runes of Magic and Bounty Bay Online.

At the start of the year, Save the Children began implementing their projects with the 82,000 euros that we collected. We visited Bhutan in early November to see how our donations were being put to use:

Our flight from Bangkok set off for Paro across the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. The pilot deftly manoeuvred our Airbus 319, one of two owned by the royal airline Druk Air, through a narrow canyon. The wings almost grazed the mountainsides with each turn he made, but soon the colourfully painted half-timbered houses on the slopes came into view and we landed safely in the sunlit Paro valley near the path of a mighty mountain river. We were in Druk Yul, the Land of the Thunder Dragon, as the country is named in the local language.

The new content update "Raging Seas" will give you from the 3rd of August three brand new ships as well as a completely new system to improve and upgrade ships. The ship improvement system allows up to four special items to be placed in various ship slots, which improve the rudder, medicine deck, the durability of the ship’s hull, or increase cannon range, amongst others.

Shocking news from the world of the bunnies!

An Easter Bunny faction wants to favour square eggs instead of round eggs for logistical reasons. In view of the mounting tensions, some hens are boycotting the plans. Trouble is brewing...

Numerous representatives of the little beasties known locally as the "long ears" are flocking to Bounty Bay to start an uprising. Join the fight against the fluffy menace and block the nefarious plans of the long ears.

Starting today, the 21st of April 2011 at 17:00 CEST, until Tuesday, the 26th of April 2011 at 12:00 CEST, you will be able to find the menacing rabbits across the Bounty Bay Online World.

Bounty Bay Online Celebrates its 4th Birthday!

It’s been 4 years since the first caravel left the harbour to set sail on a voyage into the unknown, in search of adventure and danger.

To thank you for your support over these four years, we’ve organised a range of events on all servers and some competitions on our website, in the forum, and on Facebook.

Our beloved Arrr of the Month started yesterday, which is putting your arts and crafts skills to the test. For more information on the competition and the prizes, please visit our competition site.

We’ve got a host of other exciting things going on besides our weekly events. Details of which can be found here. To celebrate four years of BBO we’re first of all introducing a new quest series full of puzzles and booty a plenty. Part 1: The Treasures of the Stranded Mariner

The shrill shriek of the seagulls circling above the beach rudely ripped him from his sleep. As he slowly opened his eyes, they were dazzled by the bright rays of the sun.

How long had he lain unconscious on the beach?

Using his tired arms to push himself off the hot sand, he sat up, his body covered with painful wounds. Puzzled, he tried to remember how he ended up in this place.

What terrible events had brought him to this place?

The only thing he could remember was that he had been sailing in the direction of London. But he could remember neither his name nor where he came from, nor what mission he was on before he woke up here.

Where was this lonely place where he was stranded?

In the search for food, he discovered a small piece of paper protruding from the sand. The barely readable records that had been washed ashore revealed that he was on an island in the Atlantic Ocean.

But this discovery could not help him from his predicament, and racked with worry, he sat down in the shade of a palm to calm himself.
