Merchant Alliance

The Merchant Alliance System

The Merchant Alliances are a part of the new guild and fleet system in Beyond the Horizon. Guild and fleet members must belong to the same Merchant Alliance.  Using these Merchant Alliances players can make new allies and take part in new quests as well. Special city battles between alliances are also planned for the future.

There are Five Merchant Alliances:

  • Islamic Merchant Alliance
Allied Cities: Algiers, Tripoli, Alexandria, Istanbul
    Capital City: Alexandria
  • Western Mediterranean Merchant Alliance
Allied Cities: Venice, Genoa, Barcelona, Athens
    Capital City: Venice
  • Iberian Merchant Alliance
    Allied Cities: Seville, Lisbon
    Capital City: Lisbon
  • English Channel Merchant Alliance
    Allied Cities: London, Oslo, Bordeaux/
    Capital City: Bordeaux
  • Netherlands Merchant Alliance
    Allied Cities: Stockholm, Hamburg, Amsterdam
    Capital City: Amsterdam

Costs for Changes and Ranking Lists:

You can completely change a guild into a different merchant alliance by paying 1,500 special offer vouchers. Single players without guilds must pay 50 special offer vouchers for the changeover.
However, please be aware that it is not possible to move from the weakest merchant alliance on the server into a stronger one. This was intentionally programmed and cannot be changed by us.  It makes sure that certain alliances which have no hope of success do not remain indefinitely. Changing from anyone alliance into the strongest current alliance is also not possible.

Furthermore, changing from a strong alliance into a weaker one is always possible and is free of charge. After having left an alliance you must wait 3 days before you can join another.
Changing Merchant Alliances can be done by visiting the ‘Merchant’s Alliance Messenger’ in Athens who can be found next to the ‘Guild Manager’ from whom you can also view the merchant alliance ranking lists (Places 1 to 5).

City Battles for the Merchant’s Alliance Capital Cities

The world of Bounty Bay Online has been expanded with the activation of the Merchant’s Alliance capital cities.  This is a new feature which allows you to take part in city battles to gain control of the Alliance’s capital cities and requires tactical ability and diplomatic prowess.

Capital Cities of the Merchant’s Alliances:

  • Islamic Merchant’s Alliance – Capital City: Alexandria
  • Western Mediterranean Merchant’s Alliance – Capital City: Venice
  • Iberian Merchant’s Alliance – Capital City: Lisbon
  • English Channel Merchant’s Alliance – Capital City: Bordeaux
  • Netherlands Merchant’s Alliance – Capital City: Amsterdam

Useful Information:

  • Only guilds with at least Level 5 and that also possess a colony which is Level 5 (or higher) can bid on their own Merchant’s Alliance capital city.
  • The 30 minute preparation period begins as soon as all the bids are in as with normal city battles (positioning the mother ship), after which (150 minutes) the actual city battle commences.
  • The leader of the winning guild is automatically made leader of their Merchant’s Alliance.
  • This Merchant’s Alliance leader is able to buy a special camouflage costume which has all the stats of the land and sea battle varieties as well as the new and exclusive merchant stats. This temporary costume can be purchased for one silver coin in the Merchant’s Alliance city and lasts for exactly two weeks.
  • The Merchant’s Alliance leader can buy the same items in their alliance’s capital city as well as in commercial cities and divide them amongst guild leaders within their alliance. Furthermore, new diplomatic possibilities are available to alliance leaders which allow them to enter into diplomatic relations with other Merchant’s Alliances.
  • Leaders of Merchant’s Alliances will be put to vote every two weeks when it can be decided whether they stay or go. Each guild in the alliance has one vote which means that larger guilds do not have an unfair advantage. If the current standing leader is not voted out everything returns to normal. If he is ousted, he loses his title and the city is free to be occupied by the winners from another Merchant’s Alliance battle.
