How To: Instanced Events

There now follows a short description of the Hunting Events and this will help you to acquire time-limited buffs for various abilities, as well as booty consisting of different items. These instanced events are limited to a maximum of 125 players per instance. The Hunting Events take place on the servers at the following times:

  • every Wednesday from 19:00 – 22:00
  • every Sunday from 15:00 – 18:00

There is a choice of three tasks which will place different demands on the muscle power of your character. This is to stop characters which are too strongly developed already, being able to fulfil tasks which are too simple, as often as they like and to enable players with less well equipped characters to be able to play there.

As an example, the task ‘Nip the Viking threat in the bud’ is explained.

We start this event at the ‘Combat Event Teleporter’, which in our example; can be found on the dockside at Athens.

As soon as you click on this NPC, a selection window appears.

As soon as you select the task ‘Nip the Viking threat in the bud’, you will then be asked which ability you wish to have as a focus in carrying out the task.

Choose the ability focus with care. If on land you always carry a sabre in combat, then it's obviously to your advantage to make sabre combat training your choice.

Once you’ve completed the selection, you will then be teleported into the corresponding instance. On arriving there, there will be two other NPCs available and these characters have a supporting role in this instance. They are the Priest and the Combat Conferrer.

For just a few pieces of silver, it’s possible to obtain an extremely effective buff (a short-term raising of particular abilities) from the Priest NPC on the left. When you select the Priest NPC, a selection menu will appear.

Thus equipped, you can now begin your search for the Viking spawn, as demanded by the task and contain them and nip them in the bud. They can be found in the hinterland quite near to the NPCs:

But beware: The pirates in this area are really sharp.  So as not to end up in big trouble, you should also along with the customary caution, keep a look out for coffers. These appear sporadically and then after a while disappear again. These coffers contain, together with silver, things such as drinks which will temporarily enhance abilities.

When you finally get to despatch the first of the Viking pirates, these fellows will also of course leave some booty behind. The first goal is of course to obtain the coveted ‘Evidence of Hunt’. Those Evidences of Hunt can then be used to trade with the second NPC, the ‘Combat Conferrer’ to obtain new buffs.

These temporary buffs then have a much longer effectiveness period than the buffs that you buy from the Priest. They last for a whole 3 hours, no less.

Alternatively you can also take the hunter’s certificates to an NPC in Lisbon who will then exchange them for jewellery. However, you will need considerably more hunter's certificates there than you will for the Combat Conferrer.

But the pirates you’ve dealt with can also leave temporary items behind them, such as armour or weapons. These temporary items have to be used immediately, otherwise after a few minutes they will disappear from your inventory. What’s more once you have put on, or got a hold of the items, they are only available to you while you are in the instance. As soon as you leave the instance, the item will also disappear.
