In Bounty Bay Online, trade professions can be broken down into two groups: the crafters (advanced professions) and the resource gatherers (secondary professions). Crafting work requires resources, and resource gatherers can provide these resources. The main resource gathering professions in Bounty Bay Online are: miner, lumberjack, farmer. The rest of this page will focus on the advanced professions since it is the crafters that actually create the end products.

Smith

The 16th century was the heyday of the smithing profession. Their were lots of specialized smithes like e.g. blacksmith () who worked predominantly with iron, coppersmiths () who worked copper into statues or kitchenware, goldsmiths () who made expensive jewelry out of gold and gunsmiths () who were made the first firearms and ammunitions. At first, the smith will only be able to build basic equipment. However, with experience, he/she will be able to manufacture better goods. The weapons of a master smith are superior to the store bought weapons. Shipbuilder

The shipbuilder profession in Bounty Bay Online actually represents a group of professions that would have been needed to build a ship in medieval times. In reality carpenters, sailmakers, and ropemakers were the most important craftsmen needed to build a sailing ship. The ropemakers were responsible for building the rigging () of the ship. In Bounty Bay Online, shipbuilders can craft figureheads () and an assortement of other equipment for ships of all classe and size. Figureheads built by shipbuilders are usually of better quality than store bought figureheads. Because wood and iron ore are the two ressources needed for building maritime equipment and figureheads, the mining and lumberjacking skill are a good addition to the shipbuilding skill. Alchemist

The medieval era was the heyday of the alchemist profession. The goal of the alchemists was the transmutation of common metals into gold or silver, but in practice alchemists were much more that that. The great alchemists of that era actually spent most of their time gathering information about basic chemistry and material science. They also invented very useful things in the process. One of the greatest alchemists of that time was Sir Isaac Newton (), who was not only studying alchemy, but physics, theologie, mathematics and astronomy as well. Alchemists were also called in to help sick people with healing potions. In Bounty Bay Online, adventurers need healing potions to survive their dangerous battles and expeditions and crafters need stamina potions to craft their goods faster. These potions are manufactured by alchemists, who can brew stronger heal potions, longer lasting stamina potions or more deadly poison potions depending on their skill level. Tailor

The tailor trade began at the start of the 12th century. Before that time, clothing was mainly created by the family or in monasteries. The clothing of this time was crafted with practicality in mind, the aesthetics of the clothing were secondary. At first, there were two vocations: the dressmaker and the tailor. Dressmaking had the higher reputation of the two, because dressmakers organized themselves in trade guilds earlier and had the upper class as customers. With the French Revolution in 1789, these trade guilds were abolished and the differences in reputation between dressmaker and tailor started to disappear.
